A review of Yates Wine Lodge by Michael written on Thursday 8th of July 2010
Yates' is one of those faceless modern chains that embody this new entrepreneurial mix of strategic greediness paired with complete inaptitude and customer contempt.
We went there in July 2010 after work. Ordered food and drinks (which one has to pay before its being served, which should have told us something). I went outside to have a cigarette, and once i wanted to get back inside they asked me to pay an entrance fee! Unbelievable. I argued that i had ordered food - they didn't care. So i really had to pay for eating the food i had just ordered.
When i told the bouncer that we wouldn't be coming back he gave us a 'thumbs up'. Apparently he agrees that its not worth going. So, whenever your in Huddersfield and looking for food: Avoid Yates' its a rip-off..
